Actress Arundhati Nag has made a name for herself in both theater and film. The managing trustee and founder of Sanket Trust has acted in a number of plays in various regional languages. Sanket Trust, established in 1992 by Arundhati, manages Ranga Shankar, a popular theater complex in Bangalore.

The famous theater personality is celebrating her 66th birthday on July 6. Born in Delhi in 1956, Arundhati was raised in Mumbai as her family moved to the city when she was just 10 years old.

Arundhati’s acting career spans over 40 years in both theater and film. In an earlier interview, she revealed that Ranga Shankara keeps her running. “After 25 years of theater, I think this is my religion and I believe it is a means to find a purpose and pursue it,” the actress said.

Arundhati Nag cannot be associated with any one language in the field of entertainment. She has acted in plays and films in various languages ​​including Marathi, Hindi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.

She has acted in films like Escaype Live, Accident, Drama, The Man Who Knew Infinity, Pa and Golibar.

In 2010, she also received the Padma Shri and the National Film Award. In addition, she has received the 2008 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.

After the death of her husband and famous actor-director Shankar Nag, Arundhati had to face a difficult situation.

“When I came out of the shock, I was surrounded by a crumbling world – a little girl, no money and a lot of debt. I had only Rs 5,000 in my account, ”Arundhati revealed in an earlier interview.

The film, directed by Mr. and Mrs. Nag, focuses on contemporary issues. Her recent film Escape Live is one such example. Escaype Live is about the lives of five people who use shortcuts to gain popularity. She was also a part of the film as the mother of the protagonist.

Shankar and Arundhati Nag had worked together in the film Accident. The film was adjudged the best film on social issues at the 32nd National Film Awards. The film was based on a politician who wanted to save his son from a hit and run case.
