Aditya Roy Kapur, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Om: The Battle Within, has acquired the image of a chocolate boy over the years, owing to his performances in films like Aashiqui 2 and OK Jaanu. However, the actor always wanted to change that image and wanted to do an action film. And so, he landed the lead role in Kapil Verma’s high-octane action-thriller Om. He plays the lead role in the film which will see him in a never-before-seen avatar.
Recently, the actor spoke about his experience of choosing a different role than before and shooting for Om.
In an interview with ETimes, Aditya was asked about the reason behind signing Om, when he said: “I only listened to 20-30 minutes of the film during the first narration and was immediately shocked by the sentimentality of the subject. Gone. I believe that action films which are not tied to a certain emotion and aspiration of a character are just action movies for that. There’s a lot of meat on the bone in Om’s story, got me excited. ,
He further told the portal that he chose the film as Ahmed Khan and Om director Kapil Verma has worked on a lot of action films and he wants to work with such filmmakers. The actor even said that during his childhood, he used to imagine himself fighting in real-life scenarios. Aditya said, “I never really grew up wanting to be an actor, I wanted to do action in real life. As a kid in school, I imagine fighting in real life and not on screen. That’s what. I spent my time daydreaming about.”
The makers of Om had released the first teaser of the film in April this year, the trailer of which was released last month. Aditya can be seen in a tremendous style in the trailer. The film which also stars Sanjana Sanghi is jointly produced by Zee Studios, Shayra Khan and Ahmed Khan. Om-The Battle Within is all set to release on July 1 this year.
