AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria gets an extension of 3 months MPNRC

New Delhi: According to an office memorandum issued by Premier Hospital on Thursday, the tenure of Dr Randeep Guleria, Director, AIIMS New Delhi, has been extended by three more months.

Dr Guleria was appointed as the Director on March 28, 2017 for a period of five years. It was extended for three months till June 24, before his term ended on March 24.

“The Chairman, AIIMS, New Delhi is pleased to extend his tenure as the Director of AIIMS, New Delhi by three months with effect from 25.06.2022 or till the appointment of a new Director, whichever is earlier. Other terms and conditions will be as per the rules of the institute,” the fresh memorandum said.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) headed by the Prime Minister on June 20 called for a comprehensive panel of names for the post of Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) here.

An office memorandum sent by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances to the Union Health Ministry said, “… the Competent Authority in the ACC directed to return the proposal forthwith with a request to send a comprehensive panel of names to the ACC for consideration.” Have given.” and Pension Department, Personnel and Training on June 20.

Earlier in March, the names of three doctors, selected by a search-cum-selection committee and later approved by the institute body, the apex decision-making body of AIIMS, were sent to the ACC for final approval.

The doctors whose names were recommended were Nikhil Tandon, Head of the Department of Endocrinology; Rajesh Malhotra, Head of AIIMS Trauma Center and Head of Department of Orthopedics; and Pramod Garg, Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology.
