Akshay Kumar skips Cannes 2022 after testing positive for COVID-19 for the second time: ‘Will miss being there’
Akshay Kumar revealed that he will have to skip the Cannes Film Festival this year (Cannes 2022) after testing positive for Covid-19. This is the second time the Prithviraj actor tested positive for Covid-19. Akshay shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter.
The actor added, “Really looking forward to our Cinema at India Pavilion at #Cannes2022, but sadly have tested positive for COVID. Will rest Best wishes to you and your entire team,

Earlier this week, it was reported that Akshay will join music maestro AR Rahman, R Madhavan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Nayanthara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Shekhar Kapur, CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi, Ricky Cage and more on the Cannes 2022 red carpet.
Akshay had tested positive for Covid-19 in April 2021. “I would like to inform everyone that, this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. I have immediately isolated myself following all the protocols. I am in home quarantine and I have sought necessary medical care. I wholeheartedly request all the people who have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care of themselves. Back in action very soon,” he had said.
He then revealed that he too was admitted to the hospital. “Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers, they are working, I am doing fine, but as a precaution under medical advice, I have been admitted to the hospital. I hope I am soon I’ll be back home. Take care,” she said at the time.
Akshay was about to enter the promotions of Prithviraj. Based on the life and valor of the fearless and mighty emperor Prithviraj Chauhan, the actor will be seen portraying the titular character fighting bravely against the ruthless invader Muhammad of Ghor. Prithviraj also introduced former Miss World Manushi Chhillar, who plays King Prithviraj’s beloved Sanyogita. The film is scheduled to release on June 3 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
