A day after a Kashmiri Pandit was shot dead by terrorists in central Kashmir, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday said if the community is not safe even after the abrogation of Article 370, the Center needs to take drastic measures. Bhat, posted at the tehsil office in Chadoora as part of a special employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrants, was rushed to a major hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries. Talking to reporters here on the murder, Raut said such incidents are happening frequently. Hitting out at the Centre, the Shiv Sena leader said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are very emotional about Kashmiri Pandits and there is talk of their return to the Valley.

“But even those who are left behind are not allowed to stay there. They are being killed. The Home Minister should take these incidents very seriously. If you are not safe, then you need to take drastic measures. The problem of Kashmiri Pandits and Kashmir will not be solved by raising issues like Hanuman Chalisa and Masjids (loudspeakers on mosques). The government has to be practical on this. said.
