ISLAMABAD (92 NEWS) – Former Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen has said that the government’s steps will destroy small traders.
Talking to the media on Friday, he said that due to the imposition of 10 percent tax, the industries will start shutting down. “Inflation has increased to 28 per cent. Factories manufacturing vehicles and mobiles will be shut down due to taxation,” he said.
The minister said that the government will impose tax on petrol. “A new tax will be brought in. Today’s decision of the government will increase unemployment. At present no one is trusting the government,” he said.
He believed that PTI was having good talks with the IMF. “Pakistan would have got the money in April, had PTI continued talks with the IMF,” he said.
Shaukat Tareen said the country would face further difficulties. “A public government should be formed to avoid a Sri Lanka-like situation in the country,” he said.
