Indian wrestler Deepak Nehra won the bronze medal in the men’s 97 kg category on Saturday defeating Pakistani wrestler Tayyab Raza.
Nehra ensured that India’s medal tally would grow after his bout as he claimed victory on points in a match that ended 10-2 in India’s favour.

Nehra lost his opening match to Canada’s Nishan Randhawa as the North American wrestler won on points, winning 8–6.
But, Nehra was given the opportunity to challenge for the bronze medal by his winner Randhawa in the gold medal match and India seized the opportunity.
Earlier in the night, Ravi Kumar lived up to his billing as he defeated Nigerian wrestler Ebikewenimo Welson by technical superiority to secure a 10-0 victory.
