Pune (Maharashtra): Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Saturday. The match is extremely important for both the sides to keep alive their chances of progressing in the tournament. SRH and KKR are ranked seventh and eighth respectively in the points table with 10 points each.

SRH are on a four-match losing streak, having registered only one win in their last five matches. KKR on the other hand have registered two wins in their last five matches. In their previous game, SRH lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by 67 runs. At the same time, KKR won their last match against Mumbai Indians by 52 runs.

KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said on the toss, ‘We will bat first here. If you record here, the teams batting first have done well and the team batting first also suits us. This time I am forced to make changes. Pat is injured, so Umesh comes in and Sheldon Jackson comes in too. We got back to the core strength we started with and got off to a good start.

SRH captain Kane Williamson said at the toss, “We played on this surface the second day and we were looking to bat too. Natarajan and Washington are back. Johnson is back for Farooqui too. We haven’t done our best in the last few matches. That’s why we want to reverse it.
