Officials say 10 people, including a five-year-old girl, were killed in the airstrike. The Israeli army claimed that 15 terrorists were killed.
Gaza City: Israel carried out airstrikes on Gaza on Saturday and the Palestinian faction responded with rocket attacks.
The two nations have had a major escalation since last year’s war in which many people died. Health officials in Hama said 10 people were killed and several others, including a 5-year-old girl, were injured in the attack. The Israeli army has claimed that 15 terrorists were killed in this attack.
Israel’s prime minister said in a statement that “Israel was forced to launch a pre-emptive strike against the immediate threat posed by the Islamic Jihad group after days of tension along the Israel-Gaza border”.

Earlier, the military said air raid sirens were sounded in the south and center of the country, including in the cities of Ashkelon and Ashdod, to warn people of airstrikes.
Israel has killed Taisir Jabari, a senior commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group, in an airstrike in the Gaza Strip. Taysir Jabari replaced al-Atta as commander of the Jihad group in northern Gaza. PIJ confirmed Jabari’s death in an Israeli attack.
