KARACHI (92 News) – Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) ship HARUSAME visited Karachi port on Friday.
Upon arrival, the ship was received by officials of the Pakistani Navy. The Pakistan Navy and JMSDF are partners in peace and are striving to achieve a safe and secure maritime environment in the region.
The Japanese ship’s voyage includes naval exercises at sea to further improve professional skills and enhance interoperability. The Japanese Mission Commander called on the Commander Pakistan Fleet on board the JMSDF ship. Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the call-on and it was reaffirmed to enhance bilateral relations in all areas.
In line with government policies, the Pakistani Navy has always made significant contributions to the safety, security and freedom of navigation in the high seas. The visit of the Japanese Navy ship to Karachi and participation in the bilateral joint exercise is a testimony of PN’s resolve to work towards regional peace and will further strengthen the mutual cooperation between the two navies.
