On the second day of National Engineering Entrance Exam – JEE Main 2022, students found Mathematics to be comparatively toughest among the sections. Though there were some tough questions as compared to the previous year, this year’s exams are considered to be of moderate level of difficulty. As per the initial responses of the students, like every year, this year also Chemistry was the easiest.
Speaking to News18.com, Saurabh Kumar, Chief Educational Officer, Vidyamandir Classes, said, “This year the weightage of organic chemistry was less and inorganic chemistry had direct questions from NCERT. Most of the questions in Physics were from Modern Physics followed by Electrodynamics. In Mathematics, Coordinate Geometry had the majority of the exam followed by Calculus and Algebra.
He further added, “Mathematics section was comparatively tough with some tough questions based on the responses of the students, however, none of the sections were too tough for the serious student to solve. This year, in integer type questions, Due to negative marking, students were extra cautious; yet most were able to finish the exam, so the exam was not very long.”
“The questions included chapters like mole concept, chemistry in everyday life, chemical bonding, and coordination compounds. Thermodynamics and thermodynamics. Physical chemistry is mostly asked in numerical based questions. Inorganic chemistry among the rest was given more weightage. And the questions were NCERT based,” said FIITJEE expert Ramesh Butlish.
He further said that the main topics in mathematics were from the chapters of Calculus, Co-ordinate Geometry, Algebra, Vector and 3D Geometry. Some numerical-based questions require lengthy calculations. Weight was given to calculus and vectors. Some students found the numerical based questions to be lengthy.
