Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao told Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday that he will boycott the 7th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog on August 7 as a strong protest against the Centre’s current ‘discriminatory’ trend. towards the States.

In a strongly worded letter to Modi, KCR, popularly known as Rao, said states would develop only when India developed into a strong nation. Only strong and economically vibrant states can make India a strong country, he said.

“In view of this fact I do not find it useful to attend the 7th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog on August 7, 2022 and I am abstaining from it as a strong protest against the current trend of the Centre. Discriminating against states and not treating them as equal partners in our collective efforts to make India a strong and developed country,” Rao said in the letter citing several reasons for boycotting the meeting.
