Malaysia Open: Sindhu returns to win against Chaiwan; Prannoy defeated Chou Tien-chen MPNRC

Kuala Lumpur: Star India shuttler PV Sindhu made a stunning comeback against Thailand’s Fittayaporn Chaiwan to reach the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Open tournament on Thursday.

They entered the quarterfinals with a resounding 19-21, 21-9, 21-14 win. Playing on Court 1, Sindhu took a tough test against Chaiwan of Thailand in the match. Sindhu lost the first game 19-21.

In the second game of the match, Sindhu made a spectacular comeback to register a 21-9 win and completely dominate her opponent.

The two-time Olympic medalist took the lead in the third game of the match and won the game 21–14 to secure her place in the quarter-finals.

Sindhu will face second seed Tai Tzu-ying in the quarterfinals.

Later, HS Prannoy defeated world No. 4 Chinese Taipei player Chou Tien-Chen 21-15, 21-17 in straight games to reach the quarter-finals.
