You must have heard many times that laughing is good for your health. But have you ever heard that crying is equally good. We’ve often heard people say that you shouldn’t cry, because “it’s a sign of weakness”.
Perhaps that is why men avoid shedding tears and crying even when they are hurt. Women mostly cry and are considered to be emotionally weak, but we have no control over the tears. Crying can be a sign of being emotional, but not weak.
Just as laughing wholeheartedly is said to be good for health, crying and shedding tears are equally important for the body and mind. Just as sweat and urine remove many toxins from the body, so do tears.
Types of Tears:
Involuntary tears: These tears are released involuntarily when you are exposed to direct sunlight and dust or smoke.
Basic tears: These are 98 percent watery and are great for the eyes, as they protect you from infection.
Emotional tears: The greatest concentration of hormones, emotions, and stress is found in emotional tears.
Crying makes you feel better in several ways:
When you cry due to emotional or stressful reasons, your body releases stress hormones along with the tears, this reduces your stress.
Your tears do not allow the membrane present in the eyes to dry out, which is responsible for the eyesight, due to which the eyesight remains good for a long time.
Crying is the easiest way to relax and lift yourself from any suffering.
