Islamabad (92 News) – Union Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has said that now there are difficulties in asking for loans and the government is also ashamed.
Talking to reporters on Saturday, he said that the government has spent Rs 5 billion on the flood situation. “Businessmen in Karachi should contribute to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. I challenge the exporters to reach the Rs 36 billion mark in exports,” he added.
He said the government has stopped imports to save the country from defaulting. “The previous government increased the debt by 79 percent. The increase in debt will increase the current deficit,” he said.
The minister said that the country is on the verge of destruction after the ruling coalition came to power. “We want to improve the economy and for this we have to take difficult decisions,” he added.
He said that there is a need to increase export based growth.
