India’s Pawan Kumar Sehrawat emerged as the costliest buy at the player auction held in Mumbai on the first day of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 9 on Friday. He was bought by Tamil Thalaivas for Rs 2.26 crore.
Meanwhile, Guman Singh emerged as the most expensive player in the B category in the Pro Kabaddi League Player Auction, being bought by U Mumba for a whopping Rs 1.21 crore.
The first day of Pro Kabaddi Season 9 saw strong bidding and some surprises in the player auction.
Abhishek Singh, who played for U Mumbai, joined the Telugu Titans and the Mumbai-based team wished the player all the best for his future.

“Abhishek Singh joins @Telugu_Titans for a winning bid of 60L. Thank you for your contribution, we wish you all the best,” U Mumba said on the Koo app.
Telugu Titans also bought Parvesh Bhainswal in the auction held on Friday.
“Our first buy of the day Parvesh Bhainswal will be part of the #Titansquad,” Telugu Titans wrote on the Koo app.
Even in these player auctions, 1 crore clubs have jumped from two players to four players in the last player auction.
Pardeep Narwal and Siddharth Desai were part of the 1 crore club last time, while Pawan Kumar Sehrawat, Vikas Khandola, Fazel Atrachali and Guman Singh were part of the 1 crore club in Saturday’s player auction.
A total of 30 players were sold to 12 franchise teams with as many as 4 Final Bid Match (FBM) cards being used on 1 day. The auction witnessed teams spending Rs 18.11 crore on players across categories in the auction. .
Iranian Kabaddi legend Fazel Atrachali broke the record for the most expensive defender and foreign player ever after he was bought by Puneri Paltan for INR 1.38Cr.
Atrachali had previously held both records when he was picked by U Mumba for INR 1 crore in the 2018 Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Player Auction. His compatriot, Mohammad Ismail Nabibaksh (F), was bought by Puneri Paltan for Rs 87 lakh.
