Sihag started her CWG campaign in England with a win in the 76 kg category as she won on points over New Zealand’s Michelle Montague.

The Indian grappler outclassed her opponent with a total score of 5-3, with four of her points coming in the second period of action, which sent her into the semi-finals of the tournament.

But, in the final four, her fortunes changed in the gold medal match after losing to Canadian wrestler Justina Di Stasio.

Di Stasio put Sihag in good stead on points as she earned six points while preventing the Indian from opening her account.
