Mumbai (Maharashtra): The untimely demise of singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK left everyone in shock. It has been more than 20 days since his death and it is still difficult to digest that he is no more. On Tuesday, KK’s son Nakul Krishna took to social media and wrote an emotional note, explaining how long it took him to come to terms with what happened.
“It took me a while to understand what happened 3 weeks ago. Even now the pain is physical, like I am suffocating, like people are standing on my chest. I wanted to say something, share something about my dad but in the end I understood the immobility in a state of shock. I finally understand the true pain, I have only now realized the privilege you gave me, not the privilege of a comfortable life, I always knew I was blessed in that regard. The greatest privilege I have ever had was the opportunity to see you every day,” he wrote.
He continued, “So many people just wanted to see you once, once in your presence, half a hug would make them tremble. And here we were bathing and drenched with your love every moment. I love everything But your point of view was there; how you treated people, how passionate you were about everything you did, especially singing. How generously you loved it. Focusing only on the positive, and not the negative. Ignoring completely.”
Nakul shared that KK “considered me an equal and at the same time protected and protected me.” “Treat me like an adult in conversation, but as soon as I left home, called to check on me. Fully trusting everything I’ve decided, allowing me to be myself Dena, listen to me and change my opinion based on what I told you, being a forward thinking person with an open mind. People told me about my relationship with my father and I always found some things strange. It took a long time to realize that our relationship was different than most,” he wrote.
“You set the bar very high as a father, but more importantly as a friend. A fierce force of nature … mesmerizing on stage and a boisterous, selfless, crazy cartoon relentless joke at home doing and playing around. The line, where the waves conspire, where they return. Maybe you and I will meet again,” he concluded.
On 31 May 2022, KK fell ill while performing at Nazrul Manch in South Kolkata and had to be taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. He was 53 years old.
