Every student has a subject they are afraid of, for most math. Following the trend, even most math teachers can intimidate students. So, taking to Reddit, a teacher shared how she used to be worried about students calling her “goats”. However, after realizing that the students were not making fun of her, she jumped with joy.

“There was this ongoing joke during this whole last school year where students called me goats. And I would reply every time they were goats and they would all laugh. To be honest, it was a lot of fun, and I never gave much thought to it But I realized I was taking part in a joke I never really got to know. I had a good relationship with them, and they’re all really good kids, so I don’t think they were making fun of me Can someone (maybe 8th grader) explain this joke to me? Realizing they were praising her, the teacher wrote, “Omg I’m in tears!!! I can’t believe they were complimenting me all this time!!!! Answering this question.” Thank you all for this!!!!!”

Sharing his own experience, a Reddit user wrote, “Oh wow!!! Yes, that’s why I became a math teacher. I always hated maths growing up, but then I realized that at some point it was taught in a terrible way. For example in my classes, there is no such thing as a useless math lesson. I always remind them how useful it is to know this stuff for anything from money to detecting patterns in life, even to a strong foundation for any career they choose. Some of them are eager to solve the problems of the Millennium Prize, which I really hope wholeheartedly. I have been teaching for 17 years, and they are by far my favorite group of students. It is astonishing to hear that I put my heart and soul into teaching. Thank You!!!.”

Another person commented, “Haha cute! As a high school freshman teacher if someone says something I’ve never heard I always threaten Urban Dictionary in front of them and someone always tells me That’s what it means and laugh fits! It’s always a good time.”

The story of Reddit has gone viral on all social media platforms. People are also sharing these screenshots on Twitter and Instagram.
