Panaji: In an unusual theft, unidentified persons broke into a bungalow, camped with valuables worth over Rs 20 lakh and left an “I love you” message for the owner of the house, police said on Wednesday. said on Wednesday.
The incident came to light when landlord Aseeb XEC returned home on Tuesday after a two-day holiday and found that his bungalow had been robbed, said an officer of the Margao police station.
The thieves allegedly fled with gold and silver jewelery worth Rs 20 lakh and Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, he said.
“The owner was shocked to learn that the thieves had written ‘I love you’ using a marker on the television screen,” the officer said.
Inspector Sachin Narvekar said a formal complaint was filed with the Margao police on Tuesday, following which a case of house vandalism and theft was registered against unidentified accused.
