Huge craters that cover the entire width of a national highway for as long as the eye can see are still a rare occurrence. But recently it was seen in Madhubani on National Highway-277 of Bihar.
A drone shot of the video recently went viral on social media, showing the dilapidated condition of the roads. According to media reports, these roads are in this condition since 2015.
Reportedly, apart from being a national highway, there are around 15,000 families and at least 500 shops connecting the road, but they have now become accustomed to the dilapidated condition of the road.
The pit is said to be 100 feet long, 50 feet wide and 3 feet deep. Tenders have been done thrice for the repair of the road and the contractors responsible for the construction of the road have fled.
